Finally I can share with you what I have been working so hard on! During this long and very cold winter I have been creating a short illustrated story based on the Danish fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea." It is my humorous take on the story, presented in a web comic-esk format.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year all! 

I feel like I have finally gotten all of my holiday visiting finished, that is until my birthday. It was non stop there for a while.  Now I am back at my desk working away on new things. What new things you may ask, well a series of illustrations based on my version of the Princess and the Pea. Here is a small bit of  my progress thus far.

In other news I will be participating in Lilla Rogers' Assignment Bootcamp this spring. I am very excited to be a part of this! It has been a few years since I left school. Though I am very happy to be out on my own I do miss the structure and community of classes. This will be a nice change for me.

Tale As Old As Time

Fall is finally here, even though the official date of fall is not for another week. But everywhere I go there is pumpkin spice this and halloween that. Soon it will be time to sign up for the christmas art markets. All of this makes me a bit sad. Don't get me wrong I do like fall, all the coziness of it, but summer is my favorite season. I am sad to see it go. Plus there are changes on the horizon for me as well. Hopefully I will have news for you all soon! In the meantime I have been working on a fanart of my favorite fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. When I say my favorite I mean, I try to read every iteration of the tale I can get my hands on, or see every movie I possibly can. Obsessed. Maybe. Though, I do branch out to many of the other fairy tales as well. You could say that they are my genre.

Bay Tree Maiden

What a new art piece! Yes I have been working. Slowly but surely and this piece has been a tad difficult. The colors just haven't sat well with me. I'm hoping that now that I'm settling in with me work schedule to have more work up soon. Though probably not at the rate I was making art this past winter. But hopefully of an even better quality. A new car is in the works. But the apartment hunt was put on hold for another year. Sadly I don't think its in the cards. But the Boyfriend and I have decided to trick out the apartment. And hopefully get me desk here soon. I will post pictures. So that means I wont be working on the dining room table for much longer. Which is very exciting.
